Voters Blame Gov. Cuomo for City's Subway Troubles, Poll Finds

By Dan Rivoli

Gov. Cuomo has tried to spread around the responsibility for the subway’s plight, but voters are pinning their commuting woes on him.

A poll Quinnipiac University released Thursday found 40% of city voters who think the subway is “poor” and “not so good” mainly blame Cuomo. Meanwhile, more than a fifth mainly blame Mayor de Blasio.

The two feuding pols are locked in a battle over funding the city’s mass transit system — and 63% of voters think it’s hurting New York.

“These numbers are not good for Cuomo,” said Maurice Carroll, assistant director of the Quinnipiac poll. “He certainly wants to be president — he's certainly got it in his mind anyway. So stuff like this doesn't help. He's going to have to get the subways straightened out, because this is going to escalate.”
