I spoke with Mumia last night. I asked if had he received the life-saving hepatitis C treatment. He said, “Hell no!”
It's been 33 days since Judge Robert Mariani ordered the DOC to provide Mumia with the treatment.
Mumia is at serious risk of medical complications from his active,
chronic hep C infection. The debilitating symptoms include skin
irritation on his entire body, numbness in his extremities, vision
problems, and swollen feet. His organs are extremely vulnerable.
Mumia's lawyers Bret Grote, Esq of the Abolitionist Law Center and Robert Boyle, Esq. have filed a motion for contempt. The DOC and Correct Care Solutions have filed a stay and an opposition to the contempt motion with the 3rd Circuit.
