Parents Praise NYPD for Stop-and-Frisk Arrest They Say Helped Fix Their Troubled Teen's Life

By Graham Rayman

A grateful couple thanked cops this week for setting their son on the straight and narrow after they stopped and frisked him and arrested him five years ago.

The NYPD‘s 19th Precinct posted a letter Monday from the parents of the unnamed young man to their Twitter account.

"We believe that the key to turning our son‘s life around, the thing that saved his life, was the arrest," the anonymous couple wrote.

“We will always feel gratitude to you.”

In the Jan. 9 letter, the couple wrote that their son was kicked out of high school for abusing drugs.
